Discovery
Every meaningful financial plan begins with a single, essential act: listening.
The Discovery phase is the cornerstone of everything we do at Ceremian Financial. Before a single investment is chosen, before a strategy is drawn, before any plan is put to paper — we listen. We listen carefully, deliberately, and without agenda. This is not a preliminary formality. Discovery is, in many ways, the most important conversation you will ever have about your money.
Most financial advisors spend the first meeting pitching products or presenting cookie-cutter proposals. We do something different. We ask questions. We want to understand not just your net worth or your income — we want to understand your life. What keeps you up at night? What does financial security mean to you? What are you working toward, and what are you working to protect?
Why Discovery Matters More Than You Think
The financial services industry has long suffered from a transactional bias. Advisors are incentivized to move quickly — to propose, present, and close. But this approach creates a fundamental misalignment: strategies are built before the advisor truly understands the client. The result is a plan that looks good on paper but doesn't reflect the person holding it.
Discovery at Ceremian Financial is designed to surface the full complexity of your financial life — including the parts you may not have verbalized before. We explore your current financial picture: assets, liabilities, income streams, insurance coverage, business interests, and estate documents. We examine your history with money — how you grew up, how you've managed wealth in the past, and what patterns have served you (or held you back).
We also explore your future: your retirement vision, your family goals, your philanthropic interests, and your legacy intentions. Discovery is not a checklist — it is a conversation, and often several conversations, designed to build a portrait of your complete financial life.

The Discovery Meeting Experience
Discovery meetings at Ceremian Financial are designed to feel different from a typical financial advisor appointment. There is no slide deck. There are no product brochures on the table. Instead, there is conversation — open, honest, and unhurried. We believe that the quality of your financial plan is directly proportional to the quality of the information gathered during Discovery.
These meetings typically span one to two hours. For more complex situations — business owners, families with multi-generational wealth, or clients with intricate estate structures — Discovery may involve additional sessions. We do not rush this process. There is no cost to Discovery, and there is no obligation.
By the end of Discovery, we will have developed a comprehensive understanding of who you are financially, where you are today, and where you want to go. This forms the foundation for the second pillar of our process: Strategy.
Discovery Is the Beginning of a Partnership
Many clients come to us having worked with other advisors who never truly knew them. They had accounts managed, but they didn't have a partner. At Ceremian Financial, Discovery is the first act of a long-term relationship built on genuine understanding. We don't just want to manage your money — we want to help you achieve what matters most to you.
When you sit across from Moshe Alpert during a Discovery meeting, you are not being evaluated for suitability. You are being heard. Every detail you share — about your hopes, your fears, your family, your ambitions — becomes part of a living financial portrait that guides every decision we make on your behalf for years to come.
